Everyone no knows the planning requirements for Granny Flat and similar have been removed, however in some circumstances there maybe be a planning overlay so a planning permit will be required, luckily most sites only require a simple Building Permit

HERE ARE SOME RULES NO ONE TELLS YOU
No matter what you read or hear or told by sales people, the following is needed

A building permit is allways needed

Some sites may need a planning permit, even if under 60sqm

The internal ceiling height must be a minimum of 2400

The walls, floor and ceiling must be certified to Victorian regulations
